Michael is the Vice Provost for Information Technology (VPIT) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the University of Connecticut and leads the University Information Technology Services (UITS) area, which is a university division responsible for providing enterprise systems and services. His role includes oversight of central operational activities and evolution of Information Technology (IT) in support of the university missions of research, teaching, learning and outreach. He has over 20 years of experience in information technology, holding positions of increasing leadership at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey and the University of California, Berkeley (UCB). Michael has extensive technology infrastructure experience and has been responsible for numerous major initiatives at both the institutional and state levels. He currently serves on the Connecticut Commission for Educational Technology and has been active in state wide education networks in New Jersey, California and Connecticut.
